Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church

This colonial Portuguese Baroque style church was built in 1541, and is one of Goa’s prettiest churches. Its imposing facade is distinctive with its two towers and centrally placed taller belfry. It can be seen from a great distance and is often known as the ‘crown’ of Panjim. No visit to Goa’s capital city is complete without a selfie in front of the Panjim Church.

The Maruti Temple

Perched on a hill overlooking Mala and Fontainhas, The Maruti Temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, who is its presiding deity. The temple is beautifully lit up at night, and since it is at a height, can be seen from various parts of the city.

The Mangrove Boardwalk

Located right behind the Goa State Central Library and spread across 1,100 sq metres, The Mangrove Boardwalk is a first-of-its-kind walkway over the mangroves – inviting visitors to explore, discover and learn more about the flora and fauna of the region. Situated over the Ourem Creek, the boardwalk is free for all to visit.

The Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary

The Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary is located on the western tip of the island of Chorao along the Mandovi River in Goa. The best way to experience the sanctuary is via a guided boat tour – an experienced guide navigates through narrow passages between the mangroves while pointing out a huge variety of birds in the trees.

The Churches of Old Goa

Old Goa, also known as Velha Goa, was once the capital of Portuguese India, a bustling city rivalling European capitals in the 16th and 17th centuries. It is renowned for its stunning churches, including the iconic Basilica of Bom Jesus, the majestic Se Cathedral, and the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, all of which are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Churches and Convents of Goa".
